New North Academy

The New North Academy is committed to providing an environment where children can learn, play, develop and achieve and where they are safeguarded and are able to tell or communicate if they are being harmed in some way. We are committed to ensuring that all staff are sensitive to issues of race, culture, gender and diversity, but these issues should never be a barrier to sharing and reporting concerns about children. We are very keen to build strong relationships with parents so that we can work together to help keep your and our most precious commodity safe and happy while they are in school. It is also important to recognise that children being able to keep themselves safe whilst they are out of school is incredibly important too. In school, we are sensitive to different children’s needs in and outside of school and our Inclusion Leader who is not class based to really develop the provision for our children as part of our Inclusion agenda. Mrs Thompson is responsible for ensuring that every child can access their learning and also to ensure that children are safe and happy. The Associated Downloads tab to the right of this page also shares some key information about the work we do, and also offers guidance to parents about the extra steps you can take to contribute to this outside of school too.

Our designated safeguard leaders are Joanne Craddock (Mon – Wed) and Nimira Lalji (Thur – Fri). Contact details: 020 7704 3900 email:

Further information We all want our children to live in a safe and loving environment so that they can grow up to become happy, confident adults. You will already know that your children can be vulnerable to risks both inside and outside the home, and will have taken steps to protect them so they can grow, learn and develop to their fullest potential. Protecting your children from radicalisation and extremism is similar to protecting them from the other harms you may be more familiar with, such as drugs, gangs and sexual exploitation. Click on the government link below which gives parents practical advice on protecting children from extremism and radicalisation.
