New North Academy

Dear Parent/Carer and SHINE participant,

Welcome to SHINE’s summer programme! I’m sure, like me, you have been missing our creative learning on Saturdays. Luckily, the activities you will find here are designed to bring the SHINE programme into your homes so that you don’t have to wait any longer to get involved again!

You will find 5 activity documents on this page. You can do one every Saturday, or you can do them all at once if you’re feeling inspired. Just open a document whenever you are ready and follow the instructions you find. Each activity is a bit different – you might be asked to watch a video, follow a link, or even read a cartoon!

We will be using Twitter to share what we have done with each other. You are encouraged to upload pictures of your work and look at other pupils’ work, too! You are also welcome to upload pictures or videos of yourself with your work, but please remember that Twitter is a public forum and so members of the public will be able to see these pictures. To share your work, follow these steps:

  1. Upload a Tweet showing your work
  2. Add the hashtag #NNAshine
  3. Tag SHINE and NNA using @shinetrustUK and @NewNorthAcademy

It should look a bit like this!

To look at what other pupils have done, just type #NNAshine into the Twitter search bar and you will see what has been uploaded with that hashtag.

Have fun, get creative and share your work. I am looking forward to seeing what you upload!
