Parent Voice - Have Your Say

YOUR VOICE MATTERS: We’re always happy to hear your questions, comments and concerns as we continually look for ways to improve our school to make it the best it possibly can be for our pupils – your children. One of the ways that you share your thoughts with us is through our ‘Valuing Parent Voice’ questionnaire, the last of which was completed in October 2018, and we are delighted to see the positive feedback and suggestions for further improvements. Thank you for taking the time to complete this for us. The table below indicates key areas in which we received a high % of respondents who chose either ‘Strongly Agree’ or ‘Agree’:

Statement % who Agreed or Strongly Agreed
My child is happy at school 94
My child feels safe at school 97
My child is learning well and making good progress 95
The school helps my child to develop skills in communication, reading, writing and mathematics 94
Staff are friendly and approachable 93
The school makes sure its pupils are well behaved 92

A more detailed overview can be found here. What You Said

  • ‘They listen to parents. They do listen and deal with any problems.’
  • ‘Another strength …is the greeting and dismissal approach of shaking hands with adults which teaches children to be respectful. A wonderful idea!’
  • ‘The communication between staff and children is amazing. Behind the children 100% and I couldn’t ask for anymore.’
  • ‘[My child] loves coming to school and has become very confident and this is apparent due to the quality of teaching.’

What We Could Be Doing Even Better

  • Formally set up a PTA to help run even more family and community events
  • Continue to monitor behaviour in the playground at lunchtimes and playtimes, ensuring there are a wide range of activities for children to be involved in
  • Continue to use our communication systems,  such as our App and website, really efficiently so that you always have key events date at your fingertips!

Thank you for this feedback. We shall be in touch soon to let you know how we’re getting on with these actions! However, we also know that sometimes parents can have questions or concerns; it is really important that you share these with us as well.
