New North Academy

Headteacher's Welcome

I am really proud to be the Headteacher of New North Academy.  A school the heart of Islington, we have a very special school community, who are aspirational and overwhelmingly supportive of the school. We work as a team together, building relationships and putting the wellbeing of our children, families and staff, first.

Our kids are at the heart of every decision we make and our desire is to support them in feeling safe, valued and to become confident lifelong learners. Always keen for a challenge, New North pupils are ambitious and animated learners - they’re a lot of fun to teach!

The school’s motto is ‘find your true North’. Just as a compass directs your path and pulls you forward, we work hard to help our children achieve their potential, while opening their options as broadly as possible. Getting ‘secondary ready’ isn’t just about good test scores; it’s about having the skills, confidence and breadth of experience to seize every opportunity at the next level of education and beyond.

At New North, we are also a member of the Learning in Harmony Trust, making us part of an even bigger team, which we are constantly taking advantage of through the sharing of skills and knowledge. We learn through constant engagement, challenge and support, and this is as true of our staff as it is of our children.

We hope you can find what you need on our school website, but the best way to get to know our school is to come and visit. We welcome all!
