Introduction
We are really delighted that you are considering joining our school and securing a place for your child. There are so many opportunities that we are sure you and they will enjoy, in and beyond the classroom.
We are incredibly proud of our school, our children and their achievements. The best way to find out more is to visit us, that way we can talk face to face and get a real feel for the place. It will really help guide and shape your decision making. A visit would also allow you to see learning in action and to speak to our children, who are the very best advocates of our school.
Please do contact the school office directly, and speak with Lauren Jones who will be delighted to arrange a time to visit us at a time when a member of staff can offer you a tour.
Reception Classes
Children who wish to attend Reception classes at the Academy (aged between 4 and 5), must apply via www.islington.gov.uk/admissions (click on Apply for aprimary school place).
Should you have any enquiries or questions related to your child’s admission to our school please contact our main office.
In Year Admissions
Applications for a school place, for children aged between 5 - 16 during the school year are referred to as in-year admissions. To find out further information on the availability of places across the borough, or to apply for a place at our school please visit https://www.islington.gov.uk/children-and-families/schools/apply-for-a-school-place/apply-for-a-school-place-in-year
Admission Arrangements
The New North Academy Admissions Policy is in line with the London Borough of Islington and the pan-London arrangement. The Governing Body is responsible for the admission of pupils into The New North Academy and complies with the infant class size rules which require that each Reception (Foundation Stage 2), Year 1 or Year 2 class must have no more than 30 children with a qualified teacher. The admission numbers for The New North Academy take this into account.

Appeal Dates & Information
If you have not been offered a place, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of the school and the Local Authority.
If you wish to appeal please write to the school with the grounds for your appeal. You should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal letter and you MUST give the grounds for your appeal at the time you lodge your appeal. Your appeal will not be accepted unless you state the grounds for your appeal.
An independent clerk and panel will be convened. Full details about the hearing will be sent to you with your invitation to the hearing.
The timetable for appeals is as follows:
