New North Academy

About Us

At New North we are ambitious for every child and expect our Academy to be child-centred and an exemplary place of learning.

Our vision is to:

Create a safe and caring community with children, who love learning, at its heart and where staff and parents work together to ensure that each child is given the best possible opportunities to achieve success both within and beyond the Academy.

Our aims are:

  • For every child to achieve exceptional outcomes by the time they are 11
  • For every child to become a resilient young person who is determined, self-disciplined and confident
  • For our Academy to embrace and develop an ethos which drives up standards in all aspects but does this through traditional and creative approaches, whilst retaining a sense of curiosity, enjoyment and fun

Our school day

At the New North Academy the school day begins at 8.40am when the gate to the playground is opened to welcome our children for the day. The doors to the building open at 8.45am, allowing children into classrooms to be met by their class teachers. These 15 minutes before registration gives the children the opportunity to get themselves organised and prepare for the day ahead. They will also take part in a 'soft start' activity to help them to get ready for the day and focused to learn.

At 8.55am the gates and doors close in time for a prompt 9am registration.

The school day ends at 3.15pm.

School Enrichment Activities

For many of our children and families, the day does not finish here.  The school runs a wide range of activities throughout the week, both during the day school day and after school, designed to capture children’s imaginations. These offer a wider ‘Passport to London’ and enable them to pursue their own particular learning passions. The majority of the after school activities run between 3.15pm and 4.15pm, but this can depend on the activity being delivered.
