Worried?

sIf you are worried about a child you can make a real difference to their safety and well-being by speaking up and sharing your concern with the appropriate professional in school, or in the Local Authority. We all want children to be happy and safe in and out of school and we would always urge you to share a worry than not. You might be able to prevent something from happening, or help ensure a child or family get the extra support they need to get them through their tricky time. Often when the word ‘safeguarding’ is used it suggests worries about terrible abuse or neglect, but safeguarding is so much more than that. It could relate to children or families going through a tough time because of a bereavement, the loss of a job, poor housing, mental ill-health or medical issues.

What you can do if you’re worried:

  • Speak to a member of NNA’s Safeguarding Team (Please see the ‘Our Team’ tab)

Mrs Sharp is our day to day Safeguarding and Families leader and is always willing to offer support and advice, whether you’re worried about your own child or family or another. During school hours she can be contacted via her email dulcie.sharp@newnorthacademy.com or by calling 020 7704 3900

  • Check out further advice under our Advice & Support tab
