Healthy meals and snacks are provided and activities are planned to meet the needs of the individual child. The New North Academy is registered with Ofsted as an approved child-care provider. You may be able to access financial assistance towards the costs of this service, through Working Tax Credit; a College or NHS bursary; or through one of the “back to work” schemes. Breakfast Club: 8 – 9am. Entrance is through the Academy gates, please press the buzzer and a member of staff will open the gate. After Smarter Club: 3.10 – 6pm. Shine on Saturday

The New North Academy are delighted to have secured additional funding (£135,000) in order to work in partnership with SHINE to run an innovative and exciting Saturday School for children in our community. NNA have a dedicated member of staff who takes the lead for organising the creative learning programme that works with children not only from New North, but Rotherfield Primary School too. Like SHINE we believe that all children should have access to unparalleled opportunities to learn and this is the ethos the fuels our Saturday provision. SHINE on Saturday aims to raise achievement in core academic subjects through high-quality, creative and practical learning. We look to plan blocks of learning that foster a sense of curiosity, enjoyment and fun. Funded by the Richard Reeves Foundation, and in collaboration with School Home Support, this unique project brings engaging and exciting cross-curricular learning to the 60 pupils who participate each week, as well as being a really super opportunity for our own teaching staff to get to know children across our school and community. Learning is delivered in blocks with exciting themes and we have found that these additional opportunities have helped to broaden children’s life experiences and raised their expectations of what they can and will achieve in the future. For more information about your child joining our SHINE on Saturday school please contact the main office at NNA.
